Speaker's Official Visit to Vietnam, April 2015

Speaker of Parliament Halimah Yacob led a parliamentary delegation on an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from 2 to 4 April 2015. This visit was at the invitation of her counterpart, President of the Vietnam National Assembly Nguyen Sinh Hung. Speaker Halimah was accompanied by Mr Ang Wei Neng (Member of Parliament), Mr Zainal bin Sapari (Member of Parliament), Dr Benedict Tan (Nominated Member of Parliament). During the visit, Speaker Halimah called on Mr Nguyen Sinh Hung. In addition, she also called on the Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and President Truong Tan San. She also met with the President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan and Vice-President of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan. While in Hanoi, the parliamentary delegation attended the Reception for Singaporeans organised by the Singapore Embassy in Hanoi.
